VERBINDINGSTECHNIEKEN     FINEER Fineer kan met ureum- of vinyllijmen op alle houtachtige ondergronden worden gelijmd. Voor het lijmen op ondergronden van verschillende materialen raden we aan om eerst tests uit te voeren om eventuele technische problemen te controleren en de prestaties van het eindproduct te beoordelen.     LIJMEN MET UREUMLIJMEN Bij het gebruik van ureumlijmen is het over het algemeen raadzaam om niet meer dan 150 g/m2 aan te brengen, bij drukken variërend van 1,5 bar tot 3 bar en fineertemperaturen tussen 80°C en 125°C. Er kunnen additieven aan de lijm worden toegevoegd om de reologische eigenschappen aan te passen en ongewenste uitvloeiing te voorkomen. We stellen ook voor om de lijm te pigmenteren met tinten die lijken op de fineerkleur.     LIJMEN MET VINYLLIJMEN Vanwege de thermoplastische eigenschappen van dit type lijm moet de aan te brengen hoeveelheid nauwkeurig worden gereguleerd op basis van het fineer, de ondergrond en het gebruikte type pers, om onaangename uitvloeiing te voorkomen die moeilijk te verwijderen is tijdens het schuren. Over het algemeen moet de hoeveelheid gebruikte vinyllijm tussen 80 g/m2 en 110 g/m2 liggen, bij drukken variërend van 1,5 bar tot 3,5 bar en fineertemperaturen tussen 60°C en 80°C.     SCHUREN Om eventuele sporen van manipulatie en/of lijmresten van de lijmoperatie van het product te verwijderen, moet het fineer worden geschuurd met schuurpapier van korrel 100/150/180, afzonderlijk of achtereenvolgens gebruikt op handmatige of automatische schuurmachines. Schuren dat haaks op de nerf wordt uitgevoerd, kan, indien krachtig gedaan, zichtbare microkrassen of scheuren op het materiaal achterlaten; het is daarom noodzakelijk om vooraf tests uit te voeren om het resultaat te beoordelen en te beslissen welke specifieke schuurtechnieken moeten worden toegepast.     VERNISSEN Fineer kan worden vernist met behulp van de methoden en productklassen die worden aanbevolen voor het vernissen van natuurlijk hout, die zijn ontworpen om het materiaal te beschermen tegen verschijnselen van chemische/fysische (fotodegradatie, thermische degradatie) en mechanische (krassen, stoten, enz.) achteruitgang. Het is in ieder geval raadzaam om de specifieke instructies van de vernisfabrikant zorgvuldig op te volgen en tests uit te voeren voordat het meerlagige fineer aan vernisprocessen wordt onderworpen.     ONDERHOUD VAN FINEER Omdat fineer voornamelijk uit natuurlijk hout bestaat, kan het vochtgehalte variëren in relatie tot de omgeving waarin het wordt opgeslagen en bewerkt; we raden daarom aan om in de ruimtes die bestemd zijn voor het opslaan en bewerken van het fineer een luchtvochtigheid van tussen de 50% en 80% (Ur) te handhaven bij een referentietemperatuur van 20-22°C. Vermijd alle contact, zelfs tijdelijk, met water of andere vloeistoffen, condensatie en druppelen op het oppervlak van het product. Het product moet plat worden opgeslagen op een hoogte van minimaal 200-250 mm van de vloer en het fineer moet worden beschermd tegen alle licht, zowel direct als indirect.
